Mendut Temple is located in Central Java, precisely in Mendut Village, Mungkid District, Magelang Regency. It's located about 38 km from Yogyakarta city. Jaladwara is a characteristic of several temples in the Central Java region.

Mendut Temple has reliefs with distinctive features, including the Kuwera and Hariti Reliefs are reliefs carved on the north wall of the viewer room. Kuwera and Hariti are married couples. They are giants who repent after meeting Buddha. In addition to Mendut Temple, Kuwera and Hariti reliefs are also found in Sewu Temple, Kalasa Temple, and Banyuniba Temple. Then there is the relief of the Ayalokitesvara Bodhisattva which explains Buddhist life. In this relief displays a picture of a Buddha sitting on a throne of lotus flowers. Then there is the Bodhisattva Relief located on the east wall of the Mendut Temple. In this relief, Buddha wears the king's oversized clothes. Buddha was drawn emitting a godly beam from his head. Then there is the relief of the goddess Tara which is north of Mendut temple. This relief describes the goddess Tara who was sitting on a throne with two men on the right and left.
