Tampaksiring

Tampaksiring is a tourism destination in Bali which offers you a religious journey. This destination is located in Gianyar, Bali. From Denpasar, you will spend about an hour and 30 minutes to reach Tampaksiring. Tampaksiring comes from two words: “tampak” and “siring”. Tampak means steps; siring means slanted. Hence, Tampaksiring means slanted steps. There is a story of the slanted steps behind the name of “Tampaksiring”. A long ago, a king named Mayadenawa walked with slanted steps while escaping. The king walked with slanted steps to hide the footsteps. The place where the king left the slanted steps is called Tampaksiring now.
